Studying God’s Word

Our understanding comes from letting GOD teach us through His Word;

The Holy Bible by the Holy Spirit/ Spirit of Truth.
And loving the Truth.

When the Bible speaks of a ‘mystery’ it is not intended to remain a mystery to Believers.

But, to those who abide in Jesus, they are revealed.

Ask God, Seek His Word, Find.

He answered and said unto them,
Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven,
but to them it is not given.

For whosoever hath, to him shall be given,
and he shall have more abundance:
but whosoever hath not,
from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

Matthew 13:11-12 KJV

Therefore speak I to them in parables:
because they seeing see not;
and hearing they hear not,
neither do they understand.

Matthew 13:13

If we don’t Love the Truth,
If we don’t keep studying,
We won’t understand, & worse.

ALWAYS Pray before Studying God’s Word, Asking the Holy Spirit/Spirit of Truth to Teach.

#HolyBible

Buy the truth, and sell it not;
also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.
Proverbs 23:23 KJV

Sanctify them through thy truth:
thy word is truth.
John 17:17 KJV

#HolyBible

TRUTH is Truth.

No variables,
No inconsistencies,
Not based on theories.
TRUTH is absolute.

A piece of a puzzle,
is intended for the ultimate picture.
If it’s truth, it fits (in context).

Our problem is we try to force pieces in wrong areas.

Goal: See the Picture

JESUS

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
1 Thessalonians 5:21 KJV

Videos, papers, doctrines, ideas, thoughts, and beliefs
MAY be accurate.
(Or have Truth in them)

However, God’s Word IS the Authority.

STUDY (Not just Read) God’s Word.
Each and Every Word matters!

God has no ‘idle’ words!

The “IF’s”, “Then’s”, “That”;

past, present, & future tenses “ing, ed, eth, have/had,”.

They ALL are significant.
Acknowledgment of them, is understanding.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV

Study God’s Word.
He will teach and grow you into all truth.

SLOW DOWN in reading each verse.

Each word matters.

Do we skim, because we had previously read it and THINK we know it all?

The Bible is the Living Word of God, He speaks…we are to be always teachable. Listening.

If we ‘perceive’ previous meanings,

How will we ever recognize as HE opens the book(s) (Revelations, Daniel, etc) in these #LatterDays ?

We are blessed to have the Scriptures, to read for ourselves!
Something that wasn’t possible in times past.

And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness. Isaiah 29:18 KJV

Do not depend on man alone to teach doctrines. Ask the Author!

Time well-spent is with God,
And in His Word.

For there is nothing hid,
which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret,
but that it should come abroad.

If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

Mark 4:22-23 KJV

Ask God, Seek Truth, Find

And he said unto them,
Take heed what ye hear:
with what measure ye mete,
it shall be measured to you:
And unto you THAT HEAR shall more be given.

For he that hath,
to him shall be given:
and he that hath not,
from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

Mark 4:24-25

If something is Biblically confusing,

Ask God (pray) for understanding.
And keep searching,
studying in His Word.

It WILL make sense.
God loves to answer our questions!

It ALL (understanding) HAS to perfectly fit/align.
God is True

Context, Context, Context

Jesus came in the Flesh.

40 days, 40 nights he fasted, when Satan came to tempt him. (Matt 4:2,3)

Satan tempted him, using Scriptures (God’s Word)

Jesus answered, using Scriptures “It is written…”

What was revealed?
How did Jesus overcome?

CONTEXT
God’s Word (ALL of it)

Context
Prove everything.

The Bible has at least 2-3 places of each Teaching repeated…

so, something ISN’T taken out of context.

Prove all things;
hold fast that which is good.
1 Thessalonians 5:21

For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept;
line upon line, line upon line;
here a little, and there a little:
Isaiah 28:10

If any man speak,
let him speak as the oracles of God;
(1 Peter 4:11a)

Why?

God’s Word is TRUTH.

Teachings and Discussions of the Scriptures
should be done by God’s Word
(alone).

If any man speak,
let him speak as the oracles of God;

(1 Peter 4:11a)

…yea, let God be true,
but every man a liar;
AS IT IS WRITTEN,
That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings,
and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

Romans 3:4 KJV

It’s wonderful to discuss, learn, and grow!
Many have nuggets of Truth that add to understanding.

But, must be done with Scriptures. They are
the TESTAMENTS of God.

For GOD’S GLORY,
and our learning unto righteousness.
