Not All Sins Are Equal

What is Sin?

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law:
for sin is the transgression of the law.
1 John 3:4 KJV

The Law – Commandments of God

Transgression – DID know you crossed a line.

Iniquities – KNEW you crossed the line and KEPT going. This can also be over time (Backslider/Prodigal)

Lawless – REPROBATE ** Has blasphemed the Holy Ghost.

Two categories of sin

1. Missing the mark
Repent and continue to the fulfillment of God’s will.

2. Habitual sin: repeated disobedience.

a) Bondage: a will to escape: salvation intact, life without fulfillment of Gods will

b) Rebellion: no will to escape:

c) Blasphemed the Holy Ghost. Salvation lost. **

If we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9 KJV

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5 KJV

If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
1 John 5:16 KJV

All unrighteousness is sin:
and there is a sin not unto death.
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not;
but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
1 John 5:17‭-‬18 KJV

Blasphemy of the Holy Ghost**

The
‘Unforgivable Sin’ is
To Blaspheme the Holy Ghost

“Wherefore I say unto you,
All manner of sin
and blasphemy
shall be forgiven unto men:

but
the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost
shall not be forgiven unto men.”
Matthew 12:31 KJV

And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man,
it shall be forgiven him:

but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost,
it shall not be forgiven him,
neither in this world,
neither in the world to come.
Matthew 12:32 KJV

Either make the tree good,
and his fruit good;
or else make the tree corrupt,
and his fruit corrupt:
for the tree is known by his fruit.
Matthew 12:33 KJV

But when the Pharisees heard it, they said,
This fellow [Jesus] doth not cast out devils,
but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
Matthew 12:24

And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them,

Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation;
and every city or house
divided against itself shall not stand:
Matthew 12:25 KJV

And if Satan cast out Satan,
he is divided against himself;
how shall then his kingdom stand? Matthew 12:26 KJV

But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God,
then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
Matthew 12:28 KJV

Lord, Lord…

Many will say to me in that day,
Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?
and in thy name have cast out devils?
and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them,
I never knew you:
depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Matthew 7:22-23

“..I never knew you..”

But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity,
and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live?

All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned:
(Ezekiel 18:24a)

“…in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.”
(Ezekiel 18:24b)

When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them;
for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
Ezekiel 18:26

(No confession, no repentance, no cleansing of his sin.)

Remember me, O my God, concerning this,
and wipe not out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God,
and for the offices thereof.
Nehemiah 13:14 KJV

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When we are saved,
God remembers our past sins no more.
The same with if after we’ve been saved,
and if we fall away,
God will no longer remember any past righteousness.
And there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
This term is given in many occurrences to ‘unprofitable servants’, calling him “Lord”.
