What Law Was Nailed To The Cross?

For this is the love of God,
that we keep his commandments:
and his commandments are not grievous.
1 John 5:3 KJV

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Handwiting, Ordinances

..first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary…But Christ being come.
(Hebrews 9:1-28) Old Covenant

…Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ORDINANCES.. (Ephesians 2:13-16)

Ordinances (given by God)
written by Moses,
in a book.

…Moses…words of this law in a book..
Take this book of the law,
and put it in the side of the ark
(Deuteronomy 31:24-26)

The 10 Commandments, written by the finger of God on stone tablets,
were placed INSIDE the ark of the covenant.

…two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God. – (Exodus 31:18)

Old Covenant / New Covenant

For I am the Lord ,
I CHANGE NOT;
therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Malachi 3:6 KJV

The Ceremonial laws foreshadowed what Jesus Christ would fulfill.

The Ceremonial Laws
(written in book by Moses)
put on the side of the ark. <<

Many of these feasts were the foreshadowing of Jesus Christ

Passover – He/Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God.

Slaying of the Lamb for the sins of the People.

Hence, the foreshadowing is completed when he was crucified.

Feasts of the Tabernacles – The temple is now us (God in us).
Hence, no need to continue the annual feast.

Day of Atonement — Jesus is the High Priest now.

Do we then make void the law through faith?
God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Romans 3:31 KJV

WHAT truly is the
Old Covenant
New Covenant
About?

The Old Covenant was to Israel
AND anyone who wanted to Love, Worship, and Serve God.
[Even if they were not Jews]

Reconciling Man to God. Sin = Death, Blood Shed

Relationship with our Creator.

Old Covenant foreshadowed Jesus Christ –

WORD made Flesh (John 1)
Lamb of God

New Covenant

Jesus Christ
Son of God
Lamb of God
Sacrificed for our Sins.
Came in the Flesh, tempted as we are

Direct Access to God, through Jesus.

By Faith
Through Faith

God Does Not Change.

But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 9:11‭-‬15 KJV

Then Philip opened his mouth,
and began at the same scripture,
and preached unto him Jesus.
Acts 8:35 KJV out of OT Scripture

Jesus Christ
the same yesterday,
and to day,
and for ever.
Hebrews 13:8 KJV

For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.

Wherefore Jesus also,
that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
Hebrews 13:11-12 KJV

New Covenant

Salvation is only through Jesus Christ.
Nothing we can do, can earn justification, but Jesus Christ crucified and sitting at the right hand of the God. #Faith

Under the New Covenant

We Believe (above), Receive Jesus Christ as our Saviour. Sins cleansed, Justification. Repent.

Get Baptized by water and the Holy Ghost and;

Abide and Follow Jesus. Making him our Lord.

Relationship with God, our Heavenly Father restored.

Grace – Gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ

Salvation + Faith = Fruit/Works

Motivation IS Love
“If you love me, keep my Commandments”

Galatians Chapters 3-6 are
talking about the law of Moses,
written in a book, placed on the side of the ark.
And later The Law (10 Commandments) inside the ARK [Heart]
Context.

The Schoolmaster [law of Moses on side of the ark] taught instruction & justification for our actions.
To be heeded in Spirit and in Truth.
(With the understanding/conviction of the heart). The Physical representing Spiritual.

Justification is Only through the Cleansing of our sins.

Under the OT ‘law’, sacrificial & ceremonial laws foreshadowed Jesus Christ.

Now, Only through Jesus Christ who is the Lamb of God, is there Justification/Cleansing of our sins.

The [sacrificial & ceremonial] laws were nailed to the cross.
The Law [10 Commandments, Summarized by 2 & even expanded upon] are still God’s Commandments.

If we sin;
It’s The Law that will judge us.

THEY MAKE STUFF-UP BY STEVE FINNELL

Many believers in Christ make stuff-up. False doctrine is fabricated by the Devil, individuals and denominations. Why would anyone believe doctrine that is contrary to Scripture? There only is one answer, pride.

Eve ate from tree of knowledge because the serpent told her she would be like God. She believed doctrine contrary to God’s word. Eve had a pride problem. (Genesis 2:17, Genesis 3:1-24)

Today many believers accept doctrine that is contrary to Scripture. Those with a pride problem are easily deceived.

    MADE UP-STUFF

    1. Men are saved by grace alone. There is no Scripture that states men are saved by grace alone, however, pride has convinced many that they were selected to be saved and all those who are lost were selected by God to burn in hell. Pride is a terrible thing.

    2. There are many who in order support the doctrine of saved by “faith alone” say that “and” in Mark 16:16 is not a conjunction; therefore immersion in water is not essential in order to be saved. (Mark 16:16 He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.NASB) There is no Scripture that says men are saved by “faith alone.” Pride is a destructive force.

    3. More than a few assert that the Virgin Mary was a perpetual Virgin. No Scripture states that as fact. (Matthew 1:24-25 And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and he took Mary as his wife, 25 but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and called His name Jesus. NASB)

The Bible states the Virgin Mary was not a perpetual virgin. Why would anyone trust church tradition instead of Scripture? Pride is not a virtue.

    4. There is a denomination that teaches praying to the Virgin Mary is acceptable and that she was bodily resurrected from the grave. Neither of those doctrines are found in the Bible, as a matter of fact they are contrary to Scripture. (1 Corinthians 15:50 Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the the imperishable. NASB) (Matthew 4:10 Then Jesus said to him,“Go Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord God, and serve Him only.’” NASB) Praying to anyone is worship. Pride can cause people to be deceived.

The first woman to ever live was deceived due to her own pride.

If your denomination is teaching doctrine that is contrary to Scripture, then, surely there is a pride problem.

  2. A friendly word of advice, if I may. If you actually want people to read your posts, sending them out en masse is not the way to do it. I try to read the posts from blogs I subscribe to, but will not even attempt to try and read FOUR of yours in the span of FOUR HOURS. You publish thought provoking articles, but you are going to lose me very quickly if this keeps up.
